While I really like my C-360 canister filter, I feel these sponge filters leave a lot to be desired. The pores in this filter foam are so large that the filter mat becomes almost completely porous and allows too much dirt to pass through unhindered. Then there are the so-called "polishing filter pads" (white) which filter out most of the dirt that flows through the canister and therefore quickly become saturated and begin to impede water drainage from that filter. I have found that buying regular filter foam with finer pores and trimming it to fit the canister body greatly improves its filtering function and is cheaper too.
