Not bad if you're on a tight budget

Due to a lot of conflicting reviews I was a little hesitant to purchase this item. But I'm on a tight budget (I know riff and cheap don't usually mix), but I decided to take a chance. I am using this on a 90g display with a 20g palette. Set up was easy, the pieces fit together well and set up was easy once I got the water level right. Raised it up a bit with a small crockery container as it's in a special 20g tall tray. Opened the air intake about half way (when the venturi starts to form as instructed) and let it do its thing to break it in . About a day later he started skimming. Very easy to use and set up, once set up plug and forget until the drip tray is full which I usually empty and clean when doing water changes about every two weeks. Lots of comments about the noise, it's a bit loud but not the loudest, certainly not uncomfortable. I have this in the 1st chamber of my sump where the water inlet is to the tank and the water outlet faces the side glass of the sump, doesn't make much noise especially when I'm sitting on the tank and when the water reaches my back it doesn't pump air bubbles through my pan filter sponge. Haven't run HOB so can't comment on this type of setup. Sure there are better ones out there but for the money and if you need something to keep you going given the tank size this will do the trick. I'll keep it until I can at least afford a better block.
