Review on Unveiling the Mizuno Men's Horizon 4 Running Shoe: Exceptional Performance and Style by Dee Rawls

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Too soft but very comfortable

Years have passed since Mizuno running shoes had a very stiff sole. The stiff midsole makes running faster, more stable and, in my opinion, much more fun. Many major sneaker brands are now producing shoe models with a very soft midsole and new "breakthrough foam". These foams are a trick for me; just a rush to sell more shoes during a "gentle" wave (a few years ago there was a "minimal wave" - cushioning in the shoe was almost non-existent - I don't think it ended well for many runners). Now, although soft and like a slipper upper, the Mizuno Horizon is very comfortable when walking and running. It's surprisingly stable for softness. In general, the shoes are of high quality and durable. It also protects. The problem for me, as mentioned above, is that they are slower and not as fun as shoes with a hard midsole. The horizon may go faster than it looks and feels, but there's no momentum and I don't like the feeling under my feet.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Not bad
