I usually like to give a product a month or two of use before reviewing it, just to get an overview and get a feel for how it works. I'm making an exception with this AFMAT sharpener as it has worked really well for the few days I've been using it. My old Boston electric sharpener is dead and I was fascinated by the auto shut off feature on this AFMAT model. It took me a while to get used to the shut off feature as I've only used old sharpeners that keep working while the pencil is in. But it is precisely this property that distinguishes this pencil sharpener for me. I've included a short video and photo of the points resulting from three adjustments to this sharpener to illustrate what I mean. The auto shut-off feature reduces scrap and the cutting edges are sharp for a very smooth sharpening without squeezing out the wood. Very happy so far and I think my old Boston sharpener is retiring.
