So my reasons for buying these little bags were a bit unconventional. I mainly use them in our butterfly garden along with the slightly larger purple mesh bags I bought here at Revain. And I use them for a few things, which I'll cover in a moment. They are beautiful, quite transparent and have very cute little bow ties that I can easily open/close. And they are cute! Best of all, while they look fragile, they're actually amazingly durable. And if they meet my needs, they are suitable for most applications. So what do I do with these bags you ask? First, I use them in the garden to protect butterfly eggs and small caterpillars from predators such as wasps, lizards and birds, as you can see in the attached photo. These bags are transparent enough to keep an eye on the eggs/caterpillars and let in enough light to keep the plants green and healthy. Nevertheless, they are robust enough to withstand numerous downpours without visible signs of wear. The plant shown in the photo is a Florida native Lime tree that has some very vicious thorns. Despite this, I have yet to poke a single hole in any of these bags, although I have caught them several times by the spikes trying to put them on and take them off. They also look very cute in the garden, adding a little extra color to places where we sometimes have fewer flowers. Excellent! Secondly, I have found that these little bags are great for storing various plant seeds around the studio as they allow plenty of air to pass through so they can dry out and not get lost. I especially love them for drying the seeds of our Jatropha gossypiifolia. The seeds of this tree, when dry, open with a loud pop, scattering seeds up to 20 feet that are nearly impossible to find. Since I dry them in these bags I don't lose them anymore and it's awesome! Finally, I also use these bags to store small artist supplies around my studio so they don't get lost or misplaced. Nothing goes to waste in this bag. Believe me! lol. If these little bags can withstand the use and abuse I put them through, they'll certainly make good gift bags or for storing other lightweight items. They're incredibly versatile, very affordable, and so cute! I would have no problem buying them again.
