Does Not Inspire Confidence

The size is excellent, but the quality does not inspire confidence. I bought this stone primarily for lapping and initial sharpening of chisel and planer blades as I use my Japanese stones and leather belt/link for final sharpening/sharpening. The flatness of this stone is not great, which is a problem for my intended use. In addition, the diamond coating does not adhere well to tool steel. Soon most of the "bite" was lost and occasional small metal shavings from the tool scratched the stone's surface. In comparison, my coarse/fine DMT stone, which I've had longer and used harder, is in much better shape. This ultra-sharp stone is basically meant to roughen up my Japanese wet stones once they start cupping.

Pros

Cons
  • Some small things
