This was an amazing purchase and I was blown away by how perfectly they fit my son. The length is perfect, the waist is perfect. There are indeed reinforcement patches on the knees, but you won't see the patches unless you turn them inside out. They have an adjustable waist which was a nice feature considering my son didn't try them on before we bought them. We needed them for an event and I ordered them on a whim hoping they would work and I was so glad we didn't have to leave the house to go shopping! Delivery was also within a day which was amazing.
