The version I bought includes an AC adapter and it works amazing! I love wool, and I love cashmere, and I love knitted sweaters, but my goodness if the very fabrics I love don't pill and pill in the blink of an eye! This handy little razor was just what my sweater needed! I got this villain together the night I got him and made sweater after sweater after sweater! After over a month and multiple uses my sweaters look great and the shaver continues to work fantastic! I've never had a single problem with a razor! Some points to watch out for: * It takes time! Go slowly through the clothes. Heavily worn garments will require more than one pass to remove lint. Slowly move the shaver to different angles. * Your sweaters will not look like new! It happens. * If you hear a popping sound while wiping your clothes, don't worry, it usually happens when she rips off a large pill. UPDATE 1/2013 - a year later this bad boy is still rocking lint removal/pills! The only problem I've had so far is that the connector that connects the power adapter to the base is a bit loose. I just need to make sure it's tight before I start. In general, I have no regrets. I use it at least a few times a month and it's still doing a fantastic job!
