Review on Medium Grade Atoma Diamond Sharpener - #400 by Paul Walters

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Holds water for cutlery and knife accessories

This is a great diamond stone. I've been using it for two years now and, to paraphrase Dylan, "there's nothing I don't like about it." I bought the Atoma 400 to smooth my waterstones - it's quick, easy and the Stones are perfectly flat. After trial and error, I immediately level all the stones I use. Take Atoma, run over the rock a few times and you're done, 30 seconds and the rock is done. I will tell anyone using these plates to use enough water when leveling. I've got some rocks clogging up the Atomu quickly and I need to stop and give it a good flush. But I learned that with my first ruler, which I bought many years ago along with a sharpening stone. Use enough lubricant! Rinse it out and that's all you need for a clean and healthy smoothing board. Some people I know like to scrub and rub it with a nylon finger brush, but I've never used it and it's good. Again, I don't put anything in the lawnmower's gas tank. I'm just a low key rebel. My biggest annoyance is some carpenters complaining that their leveling board is junk because it's clogged and now they have to buy a new one. This is usually due to a lack of water. I think using lots of water to keep my stovetop and flatteners in tip-top condition means I can spend the money I save on better craft beer.
