I've always used different grades of flap discs and decided to try them out because I figured a flexible back plate would "mix" a little better than a traditional flap disc or abrasive disc. You absolutely can do it with them, and they serve pretty well considering what they're made of. They don't have a paddle wheel grind, not even a worn one, but it can be a money scam to have on hand. I've only used them in mild steel production.
