I use it with 17-40 L Canon. For a long time I was looking for a wider angle for a crop matrix. More precisely, there were two ways, either to buy a 5D, or to pick up a lens. I didn’t like Sigma because of the geometry, and the sharpness didn’t satisfy me either, Canon is quite good, but again the geometry. Tamron took it with caution, and did not regret it, was somewhat surprised (expected the worst) by the picture quality compared to Canon 17-40. At 17-40, the picture is denser in colors, more plastic, here the color reproduction is brighter and it seemed to me sharper, the picture is more playful. And so a very good lens, with its own character, which must be taught. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a wide angle. Good for landscapes in sunny weather. Z. Y. Gone are the thoughts of buying a 5D.
