Review on Tamron 10 24Mm 3 5 4 5 Aspherical Minolta by Somsak Boonsri ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just super, it's beautifully made, I'm very happy with it.

I use it with 17-40 L Canon. For a long time I was looking for a wider angle for a crop matrix. More precisely, there were two ways, either to buy a 5D, or to pick up a lens. I didn’t like Sigma because of the geometry, and the sharpness didn’t satisfy me either, Canon is quite good, but again the geometry. Tamron took it with caution, and did not regret it, was somewhat surprised (expected the worst) by the picture quality compared to Canon 17-40. At 17-40, the picture is denser in colors, more plastic, here the color reproduction is brighter and it seemed to me sharper, the picture is more playful. And so a very good lens, with its own character, which must be taught. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a wide angle. Good for landscapes in sunny weather. Z. Y. Gone are the thoughts of buying a 5D.

Pros
  • A really wide angle on cropped matrices, aperture ratio, excellent color reproduction (although it turns a little yellow), Quite tolerable geometry at wide angles, distortions are certainly present, but in this regard it is much better than competitors. Hare-resistant. Despite the fact that China is assembled well, there is no backlash, a hood is included. Maybe lucky.
Cons
  • Very sharp starting at aperture 13 only, which is convenient only in sunny weather. Disappointing on a cloudy day. Not an ultrasonic drive, it focuses somewhat noisily, but at the same time it practically does not miss. There is no dust protection, I don’t observe dust inside after a year of use, sometimes it happens on the camera’s matrix that it’s unpleasant. I did not like the autofocus switch button. It is interesting only in the range from 10 to 19, then it doesn’t feel right. Although this may be due to the fact that I do not use it in this range. Only for landscapes! Because shooting something at a wide angle is problematic, objects at a close location are "not alive"

Some pros: relatively inexpensive Got cons: not sharp, at the edges of the frame "soap".
