Worth every penny.: Cycling

UPDATE 2017: We've had this bike for almost 2 years now and it's holding up great. Now she rides without training wheels and we raised the seat. It's a solid, quality bike and I'm very glad we chose it as their first bike. She now weighs 6 1/2, 48 pounds and still fits this bike very well. You don't need a bike that's too big for your child. 16 inch is perfect for 5-8 year old kids. BEST bike! I know these colorful character bikes look enticing at WalMart, but I urge you to save some money on this bike. This bike is definitely better quality than those $40 frills bikes. The body of the bike is made of durable metal that will not bend or break when dropped. The seat is firm, which is good. safety and comfort. Comfortable handlebar. The wheels are the main difference between this bike and cheaper bikes. They are STURDY and glide smoothly on the ground to promote balance. My daughter is 5 years old and 40 cm tall. I recommend 16 inches. 14 inches would have grown too soon. Let them grow INTO the bike, not OUTSIDE. This is a beautiful bike. Well made and lasts a long time. Bought these pads to take with me! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007V9NR58?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01 The helmet is a Schwinn youth helmet with an adjustable dial on the back. Purchased from the Academy of Sports.
