I'm not a climber but I work in a quarry and walk on steep piles of large broken rocks. Most leather gloves don't fit well and have terrible breathability. I wanted something lighter that still offered adequate protection - and this is the best I've tried so far. Size XL fits very well (6ft 3in, tall build) - not too tight but definitely snug with velcro closure. The soft leather side of the glove is perfect for working around rocks and provides the security I need. The mesh back offers excellent ventilation so my hands don't sweat or get uncomfortable on hot days. The gloves also have a little padding around the knuckles which is a thoughtful addition that I haven't seen in similar gloves - short gloves. which have crazy motorcycle style upholstery.
