I put it on the patio over the artificial grass. it is beautiful to look at! Very stylish look for little money! There was no problem with the edges staying in the "unrolled" position. He was perfectly straight from the first minute. There was NO residue falling off when we took it out of the box or put it down. It appeared perfectly clean and free of dust and fibers. It's thick and I mean thick. Keep this in mind so you don't trip over the 1" high edges. He's not soft at all. It's like walking through thick, dry, grassy reed hair, but I seem to be getting used to it, even without shoes. In the carpet we found (stepping on them) 4 "sticks" literally woven into the fibers of the carpet. Shows how natural it is! Two were about 2 inches long and 2 were difficult to pull out as they were "sewn" into the fibers (do they?) and had to be carefully cut with scissors leaving almost a hole at one point. I'm happy because it's on the patio, I wouldn't want it anywhere in my house. That's just too much "outside" for me.
