The leak happened a mile away from backpacking!

Arg. The leak happened a mile from backpacking! At first glance, one suspects that this could be its weak point. On the Pictured Rocks North Country Trail, backpacking 40 miles. After the first kilometer I can feel the water running down my leg. Remove packaging and locate leaks from HydraPak 3L. See image. Disheartening because the shuttle dropped me off and left, I had to walk 40 miles in 3 days. Couldn't fill the HydrPak more than 2/3 full because the travel motion of the backpack and bag was pushing water out of the hole. Dissatisfied. One might ask, have you been rough on it? I really don't think so. It was empty deep in the middle of my pack until tucked into the side pocket of the pack on the day of the hike where it was filled. It took an hour by shuttle to the trailhead, the backpack was upright so don't overuse the HydraPak. I've tried sealing it with a repair patch and glue but to no avail. I would definitely never trust that again - especially. don't count on it.
