Review on AMI PARTS 279838 & 279816 Dryer Heating Element with Thermostat 3392519 Fuse Combo Pack - Compatible with Whirlpool Kenmore Electric Dryers by Roger King

The title says it all. Our electric whirlpool dryer stopped heating and the laundry fell into a heap. I ordered a replacement coil heater unit on Friday and it arrived over the weekend. The old unit was easy to diagnose with an ohmmeter (open circuit) and once I knew I ordered a new part. It was easy to install with a few YouTube videos so we quickly got back to drying clothes. As with any electrical repair, unplug the power cord from the outlet before proceeding. I would say this is a repair for someone of intermediate to advanced skill level as you will be working with dangerous voltages and will need a multimeter and an understanding of electricity. When reconnecting a new appliance it can be a bit tricky to arrange the wires so they shouldn't be shorted to reach the metal cover on the back of the dryer. Make sure all wires are reconnected and caps are in place before reconnecting the dryer. The price of this part was less than half the price on the manufacturer's website, but it is very close to the original and works. Excellent.
