Review on KA BAR 1213 Black Straight Sheath by Tom Tucker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worth every dollar for camping and hiking

Beautiful, absolutely gorgeous knife. It is well weighted and feels good in the hand. The Kraton grip is perfect for any hand size. Mine didn't come out "razor sharp," but still had a decent edge. It was easy to give the edge a few strokes with a diamond stone. I'm honestly a bit disappointed with the odd black finish. It feels like a cheap kid's ninja knife, but it's a nice compromise as you don't have to constantly oil the blade and, hey, it looks and feels cool. The scabbard is an exclusive feature of this sale. It's virtually indestructible and versatile in how you carry it. You can wear it however you like: on your belt, on your leg or on a Molle backpack; sideways, upright, upside down, whatever you have. If possible, try to buy a sheath without a locking knob on the handle. I threw mine out almost immediately. I think it might be preferable for very few people, but over the long term it's overkill. The knife sits very securely in the sheath. I am a very proud owner of this knife. It's a size you don't see in the photos and it deserves all the stars. Knife and sheath are a double threat, and treating this knife with respect as a tool gives me confidence that I can be ready for the demands I place on my Ka-Bar.
