Decent and affordable knife/hatchet

I have a couple of Konoll knives and am happy with them so far. I don't use them every day, although they find enough use to show up regularly in my kitchen. I was interested in this knife / cleaver because I have needed it for a long time. This is a decent cleaver, although I wouldn't say it's necessary in the kitchen. For the asking price this is a very good knife that deserves some attention. It's a hefty beast and as you'd expect, it carries real weight. It feels good in the hand, and while it's a little unbalanced, I wouldn't say it's chunky. This takes some getting used to if you haven't been cleavering regularly, but it's not difficult. The curved blade makes it work a little differently than a regular cleaver, and I find myself rocking it as I chop with it for a better finish - more like a regular chef's knife. This is a full stock knife with a smooth riveted handle. and appears to be seamless (although it obviously has seams where the metal and wood meet). A beautiful design with a hammered blade and a nice grainy handle. Aesthetically this is a very attractive knife. In use it works as expected, although the blade tends to sharpen a little more often than I'd like. It's not elite steel, but it's not the worst either. Higher grade steel would increase the cost significantly, so keep that in mind. The knife comes in a beautiful gift box. Overall I am happy with this knife/cleaver. For my purposes it is sufficient and looks good. Its price is right too. If you are looking for a high quality knife this is not it; If you want a decent knife that can be sharpened regularly, then this is an affordable option.
