Great for beginners!

I think this drawing set is great for beginners. I have two small issues that weren't big enough to deduct a star. Firstly, when testing the shade, I can't tell any difference between B shades. Also, the 5H line should be the stiffest and lightest in the set (try it), while the 4H line should be just a notch softer. However, the 4H is softer than the 2H in my kit. Then everything looks and feels the same to me except B. For me personally that's not enough to deduct a star as it looks like a starter kit. If you want good pens, try branded pens. These pencils are unbranded. Another thing that makes me suspicious, but not enough to deduct a star, is that they don't say if this paper is acid free. It's sewn, it's awesome! I prefer stapled albums to glued ones. The paper is smooth, which is great for regular sketchbooks, especially if you don't plan to draw in them. I tested different highlighters (Highlighter, Crayola, whatever I had on hand. Nothing like Copic or Sharpies) and none of them bled, even after two coats. You can see it from behind, but it applies to my line art as well. Notepad looks good. My only concern is that acid paper will deteriorate over time. The supplied case conveniently holds all the tools and it has a few remaining loops for other accessories. He doesn't keep a notepad. Seems well put together but nothing special. I prefer my foldable, but the advantage over my foldable is that my tools don't slip. They sometimes slip out of character. For those who are just starting to make art, I say go for it! It's everything I needed for my high school and college art classes, but cheaper than buying everything separately at Michaels. If you're concerned about the softness of the pencil and possibly the sour pages in the scrapbook, look elsewhere. I will update this review if anything changes. but cheaper than buying everything individually at Michaels.
