This is a tablet computer stand! (BUT. See my warning!)

UPDATE: 08/09/17 - I spotted a design flaw that I REALLY wish iOttie had included a warning sticker for. I wanted to separate the two main parts of the stand, clean it up, and reattach it to my desktop. A slight counter-clockwise rotation of the center "knob" loosens the screw just enough to allow the stand to extend or retract at will. BUT, since I wanted to completely separate the two main parts, I twisted the knob until it finally came out of the tiny square nut on the inside of the lever. But due to the design of this stand, it is now IMPOSSIBLE to put the nut back on the bolt! I really think iOttie should have mentioned this in the instructions or at least put one of those temporary "remove before use" stickers on this stand with a warning not to loosen the center knob/bolt any more than necessary. I'll ask iOttie if there's a solution for me, but I don't see how it could be the design. That means I probably screwed it up and now I have no choice but to buy another table stand! Other than the above issue, I am satisfied with this desktop stand. I've used it many times and it still works great. The solid build quality really shows and I wouldn't be surprised if my next one lasted for the rest of my life. I now have a 12 inch tablet that is too wide to fit in the stand's jaws. But I just place my tablet in the lower jaw and tilt it back so it *slightly* rests on the upper jaw. It's not secure in the cheeks, it's ON THE TOP of them. This means I have to be careful not to knock the tablet off the stand or catch my foot on the power cord and pull the tablet off the stand. ************************************************ * * ***** This coaster is amazing! It's made of thick, durable plastic; it won't break if you occasionally drop it on a hard floor. It's easily adjustable in all directions except it doesn't twist/rotate. The bottom sticky gel surface and the desk surface I will be attaching it to tends to sag under the weight of my iPad Air 2, loosen and tip over after a few hours. But if I just clean the underside with some soap and water ONLY, then attach while there is still some water on it, it holds very securely. Be careful not to attach it to delicate surfaces such as a stained or stained wooden table, as it will most likely lose some of its finish when removed. I'm going to attach my "forever" to a paper-sized piece of plexiglass to turn it into a more portable stand that I can carry between workspaces in our house, which is where I usually stay. But now I can't get it loose after using my "while wet" trick to attach it, so I'll have to ask the manufacturer for advice on how to get it loose - it sticks that well! (And yes, that's even after clicking the trigger and pulling the tab up). Haven't tried attaching it to a semi-smooth car dashboard yet, so I don't know if it will stay attached after repeated exposure. to direct sunlight. If I actually follow the directions and clean both surfaces first and then attach them while wet, I wouldn't be surprised if they stay securely attached indefinitely.
