Update. Now that we've spent some time in the snow I have to deduct a star. We recently returned from a walk and our son's feet were soaked! He was so excited to get a chance to use an ice pick. The sidewalks were a bit icy, with puddles and some mud in places. Nothing deep enough to go over boots. But his socks and feet were soaked. Great boots. My only complaint is that the sizing is confusing. It's not the only company doing this. The next size after the 10th for babies is a 11. Not 1. We really liked the boots, so we had to re-order them in the right size. The size originally ordered was too big. We'll keep them for later. The metal strut makes clicking noises when walking on the floor in the room. How the metal spikes stand up to salty sidewalks I can't say yet. I can say they keep little feet warm in cold weather. And we're told they're very comfortable.
