Simply the best! - Cutlery and knife accessories

I can't tell you how many cutting boards I've tried; always looking for the perfect. I've used everything from corian board to those flimsy plastic things and have never been happier with a purchase in my life. I've owned this board for almost a year now and all I can say is this board is great! It's very strong and heavy so it doesn't move across my countertop (especially with a kitchen towel underneath), my knives love it as it doesn't dull the edges and it's beautifully made and durable. I use the serrated side for slicing meat and poultry and the flat side for slicing vegetables etc. It's comfortable to use and not too difficult to maintain. I use warm soapy water with regular dish soap and oil it thoroughly every month. Looks almost new. I use the Boos Board Cream but understand that a plain edible mineral oil ie laxative will also work well. A tip for oiling the board: wrap one hand in a plastic bag (like a glove) and use it to rub the oil/cream into the board. With the other hand you can apply the product to your wrapped hand or directly to the board. When you're done, simply turn the bag over and throw it away. This method drastically reduces clutter. Leave the oil on for 24 hours if possible (I keep it on one end) and wipe off any excess oil with a paper towel. You really can't go wrong with this cutting board.
