I've been wearing the same Kevlar leggings (not an Alpinestars brand) for many years. I bought these Alpinestars for the first time as a secondary option and I totally regret it. When I got them in the mail I could tell they were of lower quality than my original Kevlar leggings but I liked that they were lighter. I thought this might work well for the summer as kevlar is quite heavy/hot to wear when it's warm. Today I put them on for the first time while riding. At one point I felt a burning sensation on the inside of my right thigh when I was stopped at a stop light, but I didn't pay much attention to that because it happens sometimes because I'm on an old Harley and I'm short. What I didn't realize until I got home was that those cheap pants had burned and melted on my side of the engine. See the picture below. Now I understand why I was in more pain than usual. Not only are they cheap junk, they obviously aren't going to be very protective either, which is the only reason you would buy them. I will return to my previous Kevlar brand. At least I know they're safe. They never burned/melted even though my thigh touched the side of the motor. Unfortunately it's rubbish. I will say I have an Alpinestars jacket and love it. However, these leggings are rubbish.
