My first Victorinox knife was a Christmas present to me twenty-five years ago. I still have it, it still cuts tomatoes, it's never lost its sharpness, it's been washed ten million times. I now have seven others in different sizes. My love and admiration for these knives is unchanging. The one I recently bought is for a friend who invited me to a spartan (apple) dinner at her place and gave me a knife to slice with. This knife did not even pierce the skin of the apple, nor did the second one she gave. I just bought her a second Victorinix because she also has a weekend home with a weekend kitchen. She revealed that she recently cut a salad as a gift, which changed her life.
