Removing the rearview mirror was relatively easy. I just flipped it all the way over and used a large flathead screwdriver to work around the plastic ring on the bottom plate until it eventually popped out. Although the replacement baseplate is slightly different from the original and the cable connections are arranged slightly differently, it was easy to spot the reconnections as they are very close to the same. And when it was fitted it looked just like the original and both the heater and signal LEDs worked perfectly. Mirror glass has no noticeable distortion. The hardest part of the process is snapping the assembly (mirror with backing) into place. You feel like you can break glass. Eventually I pressed my palm fairly hard on the center of the mirror and after some effort it snapped into place. You might be tempted to press down on the edges with your fingers or thumbs while holding the case, but I wouldn't do that or you will most likely break the glass. Again, you have to press fairly hard, but focus the force on the mirror and use your palm. I definitely recommend this product.
