Review on TheraSpecs WearOver Blue Light Glasses for Migraine and Light Sensitivity by Christina Kharel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I would happily pay ten times more for the relief they offer

First, let me say that I am an extremely skeptical person with a background in science and research. When I first heard about these glasses I almost missed them because I expected it to be a new "miracle cure" of the week that turned out to be a waste of money. We migraine sufferers see this all too often. Instead I read the article and then the research on these glasses. There aren't many out there yet, but what they do have is a valid clinical trial in a controlled environment. So combined with the money back guarantee I decided it was worth the risk. Here are some personal experiences about me. I add this for comparison. I've suffered from migraines for over 30 years, since I was eight years old. As I age, I am in my 40's, the frequency increases to the point where it is almost daily and the severity increases to debilitating. One of my worst triggers is fluorescent lights. It's a guaranteed migraine every time I'm around her for more than a few minutes at a time. I've tried all of these, both prescription and non-prescription, to find some relief. Everything was crowned with very little or no success and sometimes even aggravated the situation. The only relief I've ever found is staying in a dark room and taking strong prescription painkillers, sometimes having to go to the hospital for a series of injections. I've been forced to stay indoors where I can control the lights. I've had to give up all hobbies associated with being away from home and I can't even watch much TV or use a computer anymore because LCD screens are also big triggers. That was earlier. Thanks to these glasses everything has changed now. My eyes relaxed noticeably the first time I applied it. My first impression was hope. For the first time since the migraines began, I hoped something would actually help. It's a special feeling when you've suffered from something all your life and the grief went away from one treatment after another and then finally brought some real relief. It's like the weight of the world has been lifted from your shoulders. I have been able to enjoy life more than ever for many years. They allow me to be under horrific neon lights for hours with no side effects. I can also stare at LCD/LED screens for extended periods of time to rejoin my family for a movie night. Indoor model glasses are very suitable for indoor use. They are light enough that low-light visibility is not an issue. In fact, I even wear them at night while driving. They are very similar to amber lenses in that they don't darken, instead blocking bright light that strains the eyes. I personally feel safer driving at night for this reason. They don't heal and I still have migraines. The difference is that they've reduced the frequency by at least half, and the ones I get aren't as strong for the most part. Glasses make a big difference in light sensitivity. I can still live with a migraine as long as I keep my glasses on. I need less medication to relieve my pain which is a nice bonus as they come with their own side effects. My wife also said my general mood has improved and I have to agree with her. The only downside is that they're a bit pricey at $100 for tinted windows, but that's nothing considering the relief they've given me. As an added bonus, the glasses cost less than a trip to the hospital for injections, which I sometimes need. In this respect, they can be viewed as an investment. I use a model that is worn over prescription glasses and they are not as bulky as you might think. They are larger than I usually buy but not so much that they look bad. They are also very light. I usually wear them about 12 hours a day and they are comfortable enough to forget about them. Only the color takes a little getting used to. At first everything has a slight pink tinge, but after a short time you don't even notice it anymore. Then at the end of the day when you take them off, everything seems to turn a green hue for a minute while your eyes adjust. Again, this is not even a minus, just an oddity that caught my eye. I cannot recommend these glasses to migraine sufferers. Put simply, they work and with their money-back guarantee, you literally have nothing to lose. I know this review was quite long, but I wanted to be as thorough as possible and hopefully help others make an informed decision.
