Review on NGK 90067 AFR Monitor Gen2 by Jody Kashani

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The device is ok, the manual is useless.

I think there are a few downsides to this broadband. First, the documentation that comes with it is possibly the most useless product information I've ever seen. It doesn't tell you anything about how to change the mode, the print size is terrible (as is printing) and the PDF online manual is no easier to read than paper. It could be worse. It's AFR 9-16 by default, but something in the documentation leads you to believe it's 9-20, and in fact the included instructions never mention anything above 16. If you want maximum voltage resolution, you must use the smaller 9-16 AFR range. That's fine, but then you're also limited to showing ethanol-free petrol values, which is practically unheard of in this state. ALL gasoline contains ethanol. You have the option to call NTC Technical Support, but only between 8:30 AM MO - 5 ET. known from the manual). I would also like to be able to use the AFR graph for a given fuel to understand what the display is showing relative to stoichiometry at that fuel as a function of output voltage. Hopefully their techline on Monday can give me some answers but for now I'll just say their documentation is terrible and they could easily have made it so easy that I didn't have to spend time on my phone for it. The analog output lines are good and the ground is great for eliminating software versus hardware bias. The velcro they send is worth nothing. The instructions would have saved me an extra uninstall/reinstall if they mentioned calibrating this thing before putting it in the car. Make sure you mount it on a workbench in the fresh air and calibrate it first, otherwise you'll have to go back under the car to remove it and leave it hanging in the air to calibrate.
