Like other hand punches, this one didn't work very well

I gave 2 stars for ergonomics which is probably high. If you only take a few bites (and don't achieve much), that's fine. Cutting holes in sheet steel for a computer case was TERRIBLE. I glued some mouse pads to the handles, which might help a little. I would give 1 star but I have completed my project. The tool often jams and assistance is required to clear the jam. I tried lubricating it hoping it would help keep the chips from getting stuck. There are no dice. Sometimes the cuts were only slightly curved or a little smeared, instead of cutting cleanly, then the smeared thin part got stuck between the jaw and the "anvil". PITA out. Other sheet steel calibers were no better, the case was quite thick and it jammed - thinner sheet metal just jammed many times more often. The thinner, the worse. I was hoping they would be better than the Harbor Freight, but physically they were almost if not completely identical, possibly made in the same factory. To be honest I don't know how you can say so many good things. about this and other instruments of the same style. If the steel is thick enough not to glue every other cut, then it's a pain in your hands; When it's stuck, it's really hard to get it out. much luck

Pros
  • The material to be punched is placed in the gap between the punch and the knife channel.
Cons
  • Was damaged
