I bought them because they are shaped like 18th century shoes. I replaced the laces with ribbons. Pros: They were inexpensive, fit well, and provided the look I was going for at a price that was much more affordable than period reproduction shoes. You look really good with my suit. The Bad: I bought suede shoes, and although the title says "leather," there is no leather on the upper of these shoes. There are suede panels on the sole and heel, but the upper is synthetic rather than leather. And the shoe has little to no structure between the ball and heel. I think other non-microsuede styles would be more textured. But for the price and for what I need it will be ok. Just don't expect them to last very long, even if you're an indoor hardwood dancer.
