Great for a strong pulling dog

Excellent leash. It is very durable and at the same time light and feels comfortable in the hand. This is great for a strong pulling dog like mine because when he pulls on the foam handle it doesn't hurt and the braided rope gives a bit so the pull isn't strong. Highly recommended. I've been using it for a month now and don't agree that it "wears out" as one woman said when she tried it once. It didn't work at all for me. I have a big word of warning: don't drive your dog through the sprinkler system with him. My dog likes to play with the hosepipe when I water the plants and he gets soaked. The leash seemed to have lengthened a bit from getting wet and dry while he was still pulling her out for a walk. I also recommend holding the handle, not the rope. What I do is hold the handle and then take excess rope in my other hand so I can easily let go of the excess rope as he runs. My dog is very fast and aggressively chases squirrels and cats. I once caught a rope burn from not holding the leash properly. Compared to other lines, this one is the best. We used to have a durable, flat cotton leash - he chewed it up right away. Then I bought him a metal leash - too heavy. He did not eat this leash, it is light, it is comfortable to hold in hands and in a month there were no signs of wear on the rope or on the handle. It got really wet and since then the foam has kept falling out from under the grip which doesn't seem to cause any problems, it just doesn't look as nice. I would buy this again. However, since it stretches, I would buy a smaller size next time. I bought the 8" and honestly it's too long now, probably more like a 9" and I have to keep putting it on my other hand while walking. If my dog is at the end of the leash and pulls, then he can pull me, and has done so several times. So I recommend a shorter leash so you don't fall off if your dog pulls hard.
