I have this cap bought twice (like a fool). Both times the straw broke right at the quicksilver logo. Big hole. Was it designed that way to dissipate heat? no It's just a junk hat that's broken. The straw is very stiff and broken throughout the box. A bit like confetti, but not fun at all. When I tried putting on a hat for the first time, I thought that everything was probably fine. But with every light breeze more and more straw broke off. I felt like Hansel and Gretel leaving a trail of straw everywhere. I think the positive is that you'll probably never get lost? The hole kept getting bigger and eventually my husband said I couldn't sit on the beach with him anymore. :(I bought a second one because the price drew me in and the flat edge made me think I might look cool! Unfortunately, no. More junk! Bigger hole. Thing is, a small start-up company how Quicksliver can't afford to have quality control people! They only get 1.3 billion a year! :( Oh wait. So don't buy that hat unless your stepmom tells you to pick berries in the backwoods, right if you want to be banned from friends and family public.
