Review on BlackHole Litter Mat Blackhole Cat Cats by Jessica Brown

Changes to the rules of the game for sick/disabled people!

This toilet mat is worth its weight in gold. I have tried MANY toilet mats over the past 20 years and this is the only one that has worked. Yes, the price of a rug seems high, but it has reduced the floor waste from our boxes by about 90%. We have two medium sized blankets for two of our four litter boxes. They're great, but I don't spend $140 on mats for all four drawers. We use them under our lidless bowls. If you have a tray without a lid, I strongly recommend going for a larger size, the medium size isn't enough, it's not big enough to collect dirt on the sides. If you have a tray with a lid, a medium size is ideal. We rescue cats, so we always have a full house. Especially in a multi-cat household, you should always have an equal number of cats and litter boxes plus one, which is why we have far more litter than most people. We also have hardwood so the debris is much more visible. We clean our carpets every 2-3 days and that's all we really need. **If you don't throw it away on a regular basis, it won't be able to do its job and you'll end up back on the floor with trash. It works by trapping dirt in its small holes, once they fill up it becomes ineffective. This isn't a problem if you use it properly and dispose of it every few days depending on how dirty your cat is. We are VERY dirty. I take it out and throw the excess trash back in the box. The top is made of foam rubber, so anything that gets on it (faeces, vomit) is immediately wiped off with water. Cats don't scratch the carpet unless I left it on after throwing it away. You don't mind stepping on it, and neither do I, you won't get your feet dirty. I actually go to him sometimes to wipe the dirt off my feet or shoes. It's awesome for that purpose only. I would say this product is essential if you have cats. We used to have to sweep every day and that wasn't enough. I have an autoimmune/neurological condition so I can never clean, my mom had to. It really changed my life. If you have an illness or disability I highly recommend this. I don't know how I lived without it before.
