Review on Maximizing Performance: Solimeta Glycerin Filled Stainless Pressure – Unleash Efficiency and Accuracy! by John Miranda

Decent budget household pressure gauge

If you're buying this gauge with the expectation that it's an inexpensive gauge for home use, rather than an accurate, quality, lifetime instrument, you won't be disappointed. My gauge arrived with an arrow on the appropriate side of the zero post (some reviewers have pointed out that their gauge was either assembled incorrectly or damaged in transit). Unfortunately, when attached to the chest armor hose, the gauge leaks unless tightened with pliers. The second washing machine did not solve the problem. I checked the accuracy with a higher-quality measuring device without a maximum value display. This gauge is typically within 5psi of 120psi of a high quality gauge. The Max arrow usually correctly indicates maximum pressure (i.e. enough resistance to stay in place). Note that max pointers tend to add an additional precision error due to the second drag of the pointer. The build quality is satisfactory, but I expect it to break at some point. I don't have such expectations of my higher quality sensor. FYI, fellow gauge reviewers: If water gets into the gauge, chances are the bourbon gauge tube is broken and the gauge is useless at that point. Never allow pressure surges to go beyond the scale level. Conclusion: A good inexpensive pressure gauge for home use. A high-quality sensor with a maximum pointer costs over $ 100 (manufacturers add a significant price increase for maximum pointers for unknown reasons).

Pros
  • ASME Type "B" accuracy.
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
