I bring the mail and they're great for walking on ice and packed snow! Don't worry if you get off my truck or follow the route. They are also great because they are waterproof. When the ice is gone you can just take off your boots for snow. However, I also have a pair of waterproof lightweight Neos boots or non-groove cleats that I wear in light snow or rain. My only complaint was that the cleats on the right shoe weren't tight and I lost 4 on day one. Luckily I ordered a replacement the same day I ordered the overshoes and was able to replace them. I used the tool that came with it and checked all the spikes as I replaced the ones that were missing. The left boot had all of the cleats very tight, but the right boot had almost all of the cleats dangling. I have since bought some blue Loctite to put new studs on when they are replaced due to loss or wear.
