Review on 🚗 Metra 99-8158G Single/Double DIN Installation Kit for Lexus ES300/ES330 (2002-2006) by Brian Stepp

This is a relatively cheap solution for those upgrading their stereo (which I recommend to anyone with a Lexus ES as the standard radio is terrible). The fit and finish are okay, the quality is acceptable, but they should have done a few things differently. The plastic caliber is thin and very thin (compared to the standard bezel)2. Brackets for the head unit PLASTIC! Yes, plastic, it's not very difficult to break this thing into a million pieces and steal the radio. I'd happily spend $25-$50 more for thicker, better plastic AND THE BIG THING: metal mounts. Overall happy with the easy installation. The vents, clock, kill switch, and mounting clips snap into place properly. If I could give 2.5 stars I would, but I'd round it up to 3 because it's cheap.
