I needed to buy a new door but I couldn't afford tempered glass so I ordered this film. The first photo shows the door without the foil. 2. from inside. The third is outside with the lights on at dusk. The last thing is to look about the same distance during the day as if I were putting my hands on the glass to look inside. I wouldn't use it in the bathroom but it's great for a hallway. The foil refracts the sun and creates a rainbow over the entire entrance. I would use it again in this type of setup. For the assembly I bought one of the film assembly sets with spatula, joint compound and cutter. However, I was using a Windex water and vinegar solution when I noticed that it didn't contain ammonia. I sprayed it until the smooth side of the film could slide easily over the glass, removing the backing as I went down and adding more solution. During the day it was about 72 degrees and the windows weren't cold. I should have trimmed it about an inch from the edge, but after cutting crookedly the first time, I decided to try it without trimming for my side window. Luckily the upper window was already there. I think a precision knife would have worked better but it was still pretty easy since I watched a professional installation film. He said that clean glass and lots of mortar are key to the best result. He also used a dishwashing tray to soak the film in soapy water before putting it on. After a week I didn't notice any new blisters. There were a few small ones downstairs, I couldn't get out.
