This is a really small but well made container. It doesn't let air through. To use this container for everything you must have a very small appetite or use several of these to pack your lunch. You may be able to cut up an apple or maybe 1.5 apples and place them in this container. The latch on the lid is secure and stays in place, but it's not airtight. If you put soup or any other liquid in this container and don't hold it upright (put it in a lunch box or lunch bag that wobbles), the soup will spill all over the place. It's stronger than the cheap ones. You will find in the grocery store that it is not destroyed but since it is not sealed. Since it is not sealed, its use is somewhat limited. Not a bad, fairly well made container, but not very practical in my opinion. I wouldn't buy this, but I could buy a pack of these at a lower price for a dry or mostly dry container.
