Last season I had Dakine Scout gloves in carbon which did a great job considering the price I paid. However, they weren't as waterproof as I'd hoped, and my hands often got wet and cold. This year I made the decision to switch to Mitts and I'm glad I did. Instead, they have a GoreText waterproofing, which I think is way better than gloves, and they have a number of small changes that make them a better glove. The lace "idiot strap" is removable so can be replaced if it breaks (this was the case with my old gloves but they were sewn in so couldn't be replaced). The drawstring around the cuff is more durable and the nose cloth is much larger. They also come with a touchscreen glove so your hands aren't bare when you need to snap a nice Instagram shot. They have a "secret pocket" for lighters and "stuff" or an insert for a heat pack. They are very warm, comfortable, easy to put on and take off, yet flexible enough that I can put my snowboard bindings on without taking them off. from my gloves. I bought the XL gloves last year and they were the perfect size, however, XL is a little big on the mittens. Should have listened to the reviews and bought a size smaller. Highly recommended
