So we have been using Select Comfort/Sleep Number beds for 25 years and are VERY happy with them. We had the Queen for about 8 years, then we sold her and bought the King. A little over a year ago I felt it had lost some of its softness on the surface so I bought a 3 inch memory foam topper. I loved it and my husband was tolerant of the topper. I had the opportunity to try a full memory mattress and I happily did so. After 25 years of utter satisfaction from sleeping on air, I've taken it to a new level! Memory foam is amazing. Slowly settles or gently sinks into the memory foam exactly where needed and as deep as needed to relieve pressure. I really feel like I sleep more soundly and peacefully. I slept very well on our Sleep Number bed and never had any aches or pains, but seriously, its memory foam just has that extra touch of plush that I didn't know I missed, even if it's a bed neighbor tosses or moves in and out of it. Bed. As some other reviewers have pointed out, sitting on the edge of this bed doesn't offer the shape or strength of a traditional box spring - the Sleep Number bed also has fairly shapeless sides. This bed is amazing!
