I already had two Arkansas Bars and was having trouble getting them really sharp. I guess my problem was that they were both too good to start with; I ordered this whetstone hoping it would be a good starting stone for the sharpening process. And it worked - this stone added sharpness to the blades and primed them for my thinner stones. Worth the investment.
