Yes, it's LED and at the moment the market still offers high prices for this technology, but that's no excuse to produce cheap junk. The wires on the light are about twice as thin as standard trailer wiring, and while I'm not interested in trying, I don't think it should be hard to break the wire or pull it out. This light must illuminate on the trailer, vehicle or trunk. Mine were meant for mounting bikes but I'm pretty sure they won't last long. The plastic feels cheap and probably won't take a big hit. I won't try that either, but accidents happen. Most things I get from Revain are decent. It is not. I would return it but I'm going on a business trip and need something.
