Review on Enhance Aquarium Filtration with Marineland PRIM150B 150b Impeller Assembly Penguin Filter Parts by Michael Dunn

Does what it should. Do not use /w sandy substrate.

works. Note that if you're replacing yours because of sand (or other solids) getting caught between the plastic and the shaft, you'll end up ordering them quite often. For this reason I would not recommend this filter for use with sandy bottoms. But I think they make it clear and if you try you have no one to blame but yourself :) A little petroleum jelly between the stem and the plastic can also calm them down (and delay sand penetration problems) - you can use pliers to carefully remove one of the butt plates and it will slide off so the jelly can be applied. The cap then fits snugly again. Note: Make sure you only use 100% petroleum jelly - no fragrances, volatiles, etc.
