Review on ๐Ÿฉน Alpha Medical Arm Sling with Abduction Pillow: Universal Shoulder Immobilizer & Post-Op Arm Brace by Dan West

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I've tried 3 slings so far and this is the one!

I just had surgery to fix my rotator cuff and biceps. I originally received this as a temporary sling for when my main sling is in the wash. I was specifically looking for one that had zips/buckles like my hospital bandage because it's so easy to put on and take off. I also tried another line but it wasn't as good. I ended up liking it so much that I now use it as my main sling! It's SO soft on the inside - unlike the spiky one they gave me at the hospital which had stitching and stitching on the inside with a rough cloth that ended up chafing and peeling the skin on my arm! This sling is so comfortable. However, the pauldrons could be narrower as they sometimes cut into the neck. I ended up replacing it with a pad from another sling and it's perfect now. The straps are very easy to adjust and I even cut off some of the Velcro and rounded off the pointed ends to make them shorter and less noisy. My arm is 12" long and this bandage was too long, but I was able to bend the end of my wrist back about 1" and hold it there with two velcro straps on the end. After the first week, my surgeon removed my arm. Pillow and said I don't need it anymore so I don't use that part. Once you've customized everything just for you, you'll love it! on the wrist where it attaches. Velcro fasteners are sewn on. If they were detachable I could fold the "cuff" further as it would be too long for my arm. So I'm deducting a star for that alone. Otherwise I love it!
