I have had this mount for less than a year and have used it to hold my phone while cycling. The rides were pretty smooth and the terrain was mostly bike lanes and roads. On a recent ride, the bracket broke for no reason at the point where the stem connects to the base clamp. My phone fell and hit the front spokes causing the wheel to brake. I was thrown off my bike and could have been seriously injured without my helmet. Anyway, I received numerous abrasions and multiple fractures. At first I thought the ball and strut must have come loose or something happened to the clamp attached to the handlebars. Upon closer inspection, however, I noticed that the stem had simply detached from the base of the clamp (see pictures). The phone itself wasn't that heavy - the iPhone X - and the silicone straps remained intact. The barrel just broke for no reason. In other words, there was no human error and the phone installed properly and the mount was correctly positioned and secured. I am absolutely furious about this and I strongly encourage you to consider my experience before purchasing. Again, my rides are not harsh or extreme at all, and there was nothing out of the ordinary or out of the ordinary about this particular ride. I ended up in the ER and I'm just thankful it wasn't worse. If I could give a product zero stars, I would. The barrel just broke for no reason.
