I loved my $30 knife but wow it made everything easy to cut. It's lighter than my other knife and easier to maneuver. I started cutting paper and it's like in the commercials where it cuts without tearing. I then tried it on whatever I found in the kitchen and my wife angrily asked why I was cutting the banana. Because it cuts like butter! The knife has a full tail, meaning the metal comes down to the handle. The handle is made of wood, so do not wash in the dishwasher! Damascus has a fairly unique pattern on the blade and is believed to be much stronger because the steel is compressed. Great knife! Hand wash and line dry to make it last longer.
