This is my 3rd Garmin that I am using in an old touring car. While the maps haven't been perfect in the past and the ease of use isn't my top pick for Garmin, their GPS navigators are better than the Entunes 2 in a recently purchased new Toyota. A few issues setting up this Garmin: 1) After connecting to my Mac, GarminExpress had software and map updates but was unable to update Garmin (it just froze after I selected update). After several attempts, I changed the setting to also save updates to my Mac and it installed the updates to Garmin immediately. 2) The assembly is not the best. Nobody wants to leave their Garmin in the window when parked. The attachment should therefore be light enough to shoot the device again and again. The plug is difficult to access and the power plug is on the back. 3) The 12 volt plug is huge! How about a smaller plug and even a USB port on the end for other devices? UPDATE: I recently used Garmin Base Camp to set up a 16 day trip of just over 4,000 miles which I then downloaded to this unit. . There were some funny reports of how the route displayed on the Garmin as if specific days were grouped together, but the device was great to use throughout the trip. The screen is a good size, clear and, as always, almost accurate. we also liked how it showed fuel options along the way and how easy it was to search locally and even add search results to the route.
