At the same time the tensioner, idler (the cause of the squeak) and the belt were replaced. Driven less than 100km and the knocking came back. Yes I checked the alignment of all the pulleys when replacing the belt and other pulleys. Tricked the water and said the belt wasn't stretched enough. I checked the voltage, everything is fine. I gave up and went to a mechanic I trusted. I told him everything I had done and the first thing he asked was what brand of belt I was using. When I told him he said "That's your problem." He told me to get the well known American brand "G%#^S" and that would stop the screeching. I did as he said and the screeching stopped for 3000 miles and counting. This belt is of very poor quality. Spend a few bucks more and buy a higher quality belt.
