I deal with many different types of filters from automotive air, fuel and oil to HVAC, air treatment, water to name a few. That being said, specs and dimensions can vary wildly when it comes to something you are NOT buying OEM. especially the filter, which fits snugly because it's on the exhaust end. So when you buy aftermarket (NOT OEM) you NEVER know what to expect until you look around and try it. So this review belongs to the first filter I opened. I have NOT opened all of them and the other 3 may fit perfectly or exactly alike, it just depends on manufacturers tolerances. I can say the price was great and the filter (opened for the first time) was amazing (a better 'tighter' fit than an OEM replacement) and the vacuum's performance is still outstanding! My 11 year old or older Bissell vacuum has several internal filters (which have also been replaced over the years) and I am VERY careful about cleaning these and the vacuum itself. As a dog owner for 2 years, I have noticed the exhaust gas smell too often! The odor coming from the vacuum cleaner can be very unpleasant. ! I found that I was cleaning the internal filters too often. The dog smell (I'm sure many pet owners can figure this out) only came back after vacuuming the house for a short period of time. Once these new filters arrived I wanted to clean the insides again before installing. Instead, I decided to just plug in this filter and see what happens. I was shocked and the SMELL was gone! "As a professional problem solver, I suspected such a possibility but didn't believe in it." This tells me the smell went through a semi-clear (replaced a few times) OEM HEPA filter. Some may ask how I know this. Well, if the HEPA filter itself was the cause of the smell, I would never get rid of the smell; No matter how many times I clean the internal filters... the smell stays because the HEPA filter is NOT removed... Now that I have this new filter installed I don't have to deep clean every time I use the vacuum cleaner . . This filter does a BIG job, and of course it's supposed to work that way! I will update this information as necessary.
