This year, due to an injury that makes it difficult to tie shoelaces today, I decided to try simple, peasy Velcro. I bought both New Balance and Reebok for comparison as New Balance is usually my favorite shoe. When I tried them on I was surprised by the perfect fit. They adapt to my foot quickly and provide superior comfort. The white NBs I bought were snug and needed a rest lasting a couple of days before they fitted my foot. But these. Wow. It has a more comfortable and balanced sole and is quite wide. I immediately put them on for my daily walks and loved them! (UPDATE: After a few months they remain much more comfortable and softer than my strapped NB!) My only complaint is that the strap closest to my foot was slightly shorter. Not good. So my NB shoes are better. So I'm deducting a star for the length of the velcro. This may not be a problem for your foot as the width of the foot can make a big difference.
