This jack was purchased for my weekend driver and although I bought this item in 2015 it has had little use and has been properly stored. Recently I was using a jack to jack up my 2100 lb car (this jack is rated for 3000 lbs) and the jack suddenly flexed then quickly collapsed. Luckily no one was hurt (I always use jack stands when jacking up my car), but a potentially catastrophic situation. Seems other buyers are having similar issues. I'm ashamed that I didn't read the reviews before purchasing. Attention buyers! I would not recommend this item.
